Blood Moon Rising is the magazine for all things 'horror'. We are also the
aspiring writers and artists showcase. We are always looking for new talent
for our Fiction, Poetry and Art Departments. Blood Moon Rising is a
quarterly magazine, coming out with six issues a year. Once we publish a
piece of fiction or artwork, a complimentary copy of the issue in which your
work appeared will be sent to you.
Attention Writers: Blood Moon Rising is now closed to fiction submissions due to an overload of stories.
However Werewolf Magazine is still open to all werewolf related fiction. Blood Moon Rising will once
again reopen to fiction submissions after the first of the year 2009 but please do not send us anything
until then. Thank You.
PART 1: SHORT STORIES
1) We will accept all kind of horror fiction, from vampire tales to "slasher" stories and anything in
between (but it must be in the realm of horror!!!!). Tell us the tales that lurk within your mind! We are not
looking for any sex or overuse of the "F---" word. Violence is OK, without going overboard.
2) All hardcopy submissions should be standard manuscript formatted. Double-spaced, with one- inch
all-around margins, on standard-size copy paper, 2000 words or less, titled with your name above story.
Your name, address phone number and email (if available) should be placed in the left hand top corner.

3) All email submissions should be sent as attachments, doubled spaced and preferably 2000 words or
less. Title and name of author above story with name and mailing address in right hand corner, please.

Blood Moon Rising is looking for sick, disturbing artwork for its Nightmarish Gallery Department. We will
accept horror-related artwork of any kind with the exception of nudity and extreme graphic violence.
1) Artwork should be on standard copy-size paper, black and white only accepted.
2) Multiple submissions are encouraged (send as much artwork as you wish).
3) Name, address and e-mail address (if available) must be on the back of each piece of artwork
submitted.

We are looking for articles on horror movies and TV
shows as well as any bios of Actors, Writers and Film
Makers. We want articles on horror collectibles (toys and
stuff) Halloween Masks and Models. Just horror, not
Stars Wars of science fiction. Any articles on doing home
made horror makeup or How to articles on making items
for Halloween or for the general disturbed prankster.
We are open to all kinds of poetry but since this is a
horror magazine, we like something from the dark side
mostly. So no sunshine happy stuff please. Dark, sad,
and sick stuff is what we are looking for.
If you have a new book coming out or movie to be previewed, we are always looking for independent books and
movies. That is what we are all about and always looking for selections for Bloody Book Reviews, Behind the
Screams and for reviews and interviews.
