Dark Soul's Nightmare News

Bleed All About It

Well, we are starting a new chapter in the life of Blood Moon Rising as this
issue kicks off ten more years of bring you, our legion of readers, another
decade of horror.  Since this is the first issue of 2010, I want to give you all
the news that we are aware of as this new year begins.

As always in the re-make news, we are all waiting for the new Wolf Man to
peek his head out from the full moon.  This film has been held up over and
over the last two years with one thing or another but by the time you read
this new issue of BMR The Wolf Man will be at long last in the theaters.
(Thank God!!!!!!)  Also if your looking for more remakes and unlike the one
just mentioned that was well over 60 years in the making, we have this
year two much younger horror movie icons on the way.  After we saw the
return of Michael Myers and Jason this past year now we have Freddy and
Pinhead coming within the next few months.  Yeah you heard it right.  They
too are having their first films redone over just like Myers and Jason had.
And with new actors to play the beloved monsters to boot.  Still in the
works is Universal’s Creature From The Black Lagoon remake set to come
out 2011.  Much has been said about the making of the film from it being
like the classic to going with other directions.

By the time you read this two new horror movies will have hit theaters.
Daybreakers and Legion.  At long last something new from Hollywood!
These two horror flicks are cool and see my review of them in this issue’s
Graveyard Cinema page.  Also within the coming year will be The Crazies,
Piranha 3D, Season of The Witch, Predators, and a new Resident Evil film.
The fourth installment is said to pick up where the last film left off with
Alice going after the people who released the deadly virus that killed off
the Earth and brought back the dead.  For the new Predators movie, it will
mark the first time in 20 years that we see the outer space big game
hunters without the other Alien race getting in their way.  I love the Alien
vs Predator films but it would be good to see they once again carry a film
all on their own.  Look for this new outing of the hunters this summer.

No date set yet for its release but a new Descent is on the way.  The first
movie was good and I think The Descent 2 will bring back the terror of the
first, maybe even the pretty girls too.  As I said before, remakes of both A
Nightmare on Elm St. and Hellraiser are coming this year.  Also a new
version of The Bride of Frankenstein is also in the works as well.  And for
fans of Scream there is a forth film in the works being written by its
creator Kevin Williamson.  It’s said that this may bring back an all new
series of films.  No word yet if Ghost Face will be its masked killer or not.

And from our little neck on the woods comes the first production from
Blood Moon Rising Productions.  Come The Reaper, the very first product
of Sapphire Publications is turning the graphic novel into an internet TV
series.  The up coming show will feature Lady Zombie and Ali Fangsmith as
its two Angels of Death as one tries to control Heaven, Hell and Earth and
the other must stop her.  The new series as of this writing is in pre-
production, will start shooting in March.  Created, written and directed by
our very own leader AL J. Vermette, the show will be on many internet web
sites (ours too) and will feature 6 to 8 episodes.  Check with our web site
for up dates of the new series along with still shots and get to meet the
actors.  Look for a feature article in the next issue of BMR as well.
