BLOOD MOON RISING
MAGAZINE
Welcome to the new Blood Moon
Rising Magazine website.  Along with
the way things are changing, we
figured we go along for the ride.
Reveal new areas of ourselves, some
may be a little darker.  With this year
being our tenth anniversary, we
thought it was the perfect time for the
change.  So look around and check out
some of our new sections and enjoy
the ride.  You might even want to stay
awhile.
Finally it's here!  It's been ten
years and now we hope to be
around for another 10 years.  Until
then, here is Issue 41.  Enjoy!
What's New in the BMR Underworld                                            August 18, 2010

Due to facing one of the most evil things out there, the computer virus, we
have had some difficulty with our site and various other functions.  We have
corrected most of the problems, but are still working on it.  Be patient with us
if you see anything wrong and feel free to tell us of anything you may notice.

On behalf of Sapphire Publications and it's publisher AL Vermette, I want to
thank all who attended our event, The Institute of Horror, Fantasy and Science
Fiction, at the Queens Public Library located in Flushing, Queens.  Though we
had a low turnout, the crowd there was a lively one.  We will be displaying
pictures and video of the event in the upcoming weeks.

We are serious looking into getting BMR out to the masses and into PDF format soon.  If we can
get it going, it would start with our 40th Anniversary Issue.  It would be available for a low cost.
Look here for updates.

Our publisher AL Vermette just finished his series of classes on Self Publishing and it was a hit.
The room was full of eager people looking to get their start on publishing their own magazine,
whether horror or some other area of interest.  There is even talk of expanding this series to other
libraries.  Keep checking the BMR Appearances for updates.

We here at BMR are always looking to the next project to tackle.  Therefore, in the works is a video
version of Graveyard Cinema.  Take At the Movies and make it only horror.  Throw is a discussion
panel and look out!  Check the video section as early as August to see the first episode.

What to Look for in the Horror World

Fans of Being Human should rejoice.  It has been brought back to BBC and started this past
Saturday.  It was great and picks up after last season.  I won't give anything away but it's great to
see a good werewolf change.  Check local listings for date and time.

For those of you who are True Blood fans, save June 13th because as many of you probably
already know, that is when the new season starts.  It looks like an action packed season for True
Blood as there are a lot more creatures roaming around Bon Ton beside vampires.  So tune in or
set your Tivo, DVR or those older VCR.

Splice just entered the movie theatre this weekend for those looking for a good scare.  It stars
Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley and Delphine Chaneac.  It's about two rebelious scientist who splice
human and animal DNA to create a new creature.  After that chaos ensues.  Look for the review
soon.
Also in theatres is Survival of the Dead.  It is the new George Romero zombie flick that brings a
group of wandering soldiers to Plum Island to get away from the dead.  What they find is a Hatfield
and McCoys battle over what?  Zombies of course.  Looks interesting and definitely different from
what I seen from the trailer.  Might be worth checking out.

Coming soon on regular TV is The Gates.  It is about a city cop moving to the suburbs and getting
a lot more the petty crime and drunken outburst.  He gets vampires and possibly a lot more.
