Blood Notes

Welcome to the very first issue of Blood Moon Rising of the new year and all new
decade. BMR began way back in of June 2000 and was one of if not the first horror
magazine of that new decade. Now jump forward ten years later Blood Moon Rising
ushers in an all new decade to its horror fans known as The Legion. And what we
have in store for our fans in the coming year is going to blow your mind!
Ten years ago, Sapphire Publications released it first project and no, it was not
“Blood Moon Rising” believe it or not. It was a 120 page graphic novel called “Come
The Reaper” written and drawn by yours truly. On Jan 1st, 2000 the novel was
released upon the world and brought in readers that would soon become our new
staff members when we started BMR a few months later. Although the book was to
be a story of four in all due to one thing or another only Book #1 came to be and
the others never saw the light of day even though I did draw Book #2 but never got
to write it before BMR over took my time and I lost sadly lost interest in the project.
Now jump ahead ten years and although Book #2 is not going to hit your comic
shop anytime soon, we have the next best thing. “Come The Reaper” The TV
Series. Yeah that’s right kids, I am turning the storylines from the comic into an all
new Internet TV series as we are heading to the world of film production. Its
something we always wanted to do and dabbled a bit into with some short films but
now its time to bring our stories into the world of live action fiction and we are
starting with “Come The Reaper.” The new show goes into production this mid
winter with four episodes to kick off the series. The new show will be free to all and
shown on not only our own web site but places such as YouTube.com, FearNet.com
and the like. “Come The Reaper” stars Lady Zombie, Ali Fangsmith, Louis
Poveromo, Shannon Desmond and Dale Smith.
“Come The Reaper” tells the story of a fallen Death Angel named Cirrus who in her
rage, wants to overthrow Heaven, Hell and Earth. Now enter Sylo the Reaper who
must stop her and restore order among the three realms. It’s a horror superhero
story with lots of terror and action as Death Angels do battle within our Earth realm.

Also in the works as we go more into live action story telling will also be a series of
Lucan films based on my book series and a TV version of my novel “Lycanthrope:
Nature of The Beast”
Anyone in or around Queens NY may join us to play the many extras we will need
over the shows shooting. If you would like to be part of our cast please write me at
DemonicLord64@aol.com and tell me about yourself. You don’t need to be an
“Actor” but just someone willing to have fun and spend the day with us on set.
Kicking off this new year of horror for our fans and within our Free Readers Zone is
the new werewolf fiction series W. O. L. F. : World Operation Lycan Force. “W. O.
L. F.” tell the story of a team of special forces who in the year 2064 fight werewolves
who are now no longer in hiding and want to rule the world. The team is dispatched
world wide to stop the ever growing army of creatures lead into combat by their
king. Part #1 can now be read on the web site with new installments coming soon.
Check with our web site for new up dates of this new and FREE story for our fans.
“W. O. L. F.” can also be followed within the pages of “Werewolf Magazine” as well.
Also coming to our FREE Reader Zone is “The Sickness” starting in June 2010.
Unlike “W. O. L. F.” and many other werewolf tales I have written over the years, this
will be my very first zombie story and I have one hell of a twist for it too. Look For
“The Sickness” this coming June.
If you are in or near Queens NY, I will be running a new writers workshop for self
publishing on Wednesdays all April long. The class will be about how you can start
a publishing house of your very own and publish your own work and the work of
your friends. The classes are open to all writers wishing to take their writing and
fate into their own hands and the workshop is free. Being held at the Queens
Flushing Library 41-17 Main St. Flushing NY 11355. I hope to see you there.
Also coming to the Queens Library will be our 3rd annual “Institute of Horror,
Fantasy & Science Fiction coming August 2010. The free event will feature as
before readings by published authors, art gallery, film showings and this year a
screening of our TV series “Come The Reaper” It may be a long way off right now
but Blood Fest 7: Halloween Show & Rock Party is set for Oct. 23 from 12 noon to
5pm. This past Halloween’s Blood Fest 6 was a big hit and you can see photos on
our site in the (Inside Look) Department. We will be having a party for the 10th
Anniversary of “Blood Moon Rising” at Blood Fest 7 so make plans for our Blood
Fest 7 in 2010 and join us.
And now onto something I have been holding back. Starting for our 10th
Anniversary Issue #41, D.W. Jones our Web Master will be revamping the BMR site
to a more cool look and feel. He showed me a demo of the home page and I was
blown a way. Look for the new BMR site coming this spring
So as you can see we are going full speed into the new decade and bring ten more
years to the genre we love so much. Happy 2010.
