Blood Notes

Welcome back my Legion of devoted readers to Issue #34
of  “Blood Moon Rising.”  For me this issues cover is
something of a mild-stone for since the very beginning of this
publications back in the year 2000 I always wanted to have
The Queen of Halloween herself...none other then Elvira.
That little dream came true this past October at the
Halloween “Chiller Theater” convention when we met and I
took photos of her for this BMR cover.  She was very kind
and more then happy to be apart of our magazine.  Elvira
you’re the best and we at “Blood Moon Rising” all love
you.

As my Legion can see that this new issue is once again
posted online as was the case with issue #31 and #33.  As I
stated in the last issue some things...bad things are going on
in my life with family illness and some other things making
my time too pressed to produce a printed publication as in
years past.  It simply came down to not doing the magazine
at all or doing it some other way and get it to the fans.  Then
again people have really dug the online issues that we have
done in the past and had more new readers not only check
out the online issues but really enjoyed them to the point that
we had hundreds of more readers for them then we do for
the printed versions.  Ok granted, the online BMR's are yeah
for free but then again I am just thrilled to have people
enjoying my little creation.  Hell, if it were only about money I
would never have started this magazine in the first place.  I
and my staff do what we do for BMR because we love it.
We are writers and artists who want to have people enjoy
what we do.  We do it for the very craft that we work in and
want fans to love it as much as we enjoy creating it.

As with the other two online BMRs this one sports more
fiction and artwork then we could have done with the printed
magazine.  And kids there is full...that’s right full color for our
art gallery and photos.  So in many ways you’re the fan gets
even more out of this publication then if we printed it.  Now if
your wondering about our two spin-off publications, The
Horror Writer and Werewolf Magazine, just relax they are
staying in print and can be ordered on our main part of our
web site just as before along with all books published by
Sapphire Publications.

For the members of our Legion who live in or near New York
I am hosting an event at the Queens Flushing Library on
February 23rd 2008 called “ The Institute of Horror, Fantasy
& Science Fiction.”  The event will feature lectures on
writing, publishing and film making with  short films by long
time BMR friends Lake Films being shown.  There will also
be an Art Gallery, Monster Museum, Authors Room and
fantasy sword battle based on my book series “Lucan.”  The
event is free to all and starts 12:00 noon till 4:00pm so be
sure to be there if your can.

See our web site for more info and library the address.
